REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Its aim is to return the body to optimal health after pain or injury.  Some of the techniques described below are some examples of what will be practiced during a remedial massage.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  The movement is slower, the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Trigger points (aka knots) are tender spots in muscles that are associated with palpable nodules and are a common cause of pain.  This technique is usually a great way to decrease pain associated from trigger points.

ACUPUNCTURE

A system of complimentary medicine in which fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points along lines of energy (meridians), used in the treatment of various physical and mental conditions.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

A form of massage involving the stretching and manipulation of the tough connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds the body.  Usually done without oil, this technique is excellent to release the fascia.
